Crestiew MiniMax IGA

I am a former resident of the Crestview and Brentwood neighborhoods.  The central location and funky feel draw many to this area bordered roughly by Burnet, 2222, Anderson, and Lamar.  Being a central Austin neighborhood, there is a lot of misconception about where exactly Crestview and Brentwood are located.  Instead of trying to define exact boundaries, we’re just going to use the generally accepted neighborhood definitions above.  Also in the same area is Violet Crown.

Inside the neighborhood you’ll find mostly smaller homes built in the mid century.  Homes are generally on modest sized lots (think 50×100) with large mature trees.  Many of the homes have been remodeled to various degrees.

The Crestview MiniMax IGA grocery is one of my personal favorite little Austin treasures.  Visiting the MiniMax is like taking a step back in time or walking into a grocery in small town Texas.  Major motion pictures have used the quaint store as a scene in recent years.  Also in the same tiny shopping center you’ll find the Little Deli, which has some of the best sandwiches in the area.
